When I was there, an employee’s base pay came every 4 weeks, and it would go up based on hitting certain metrics – Net Sales and Return on Total Assets. The only metric that mattered was how you were doing vs. the market and the competition – were you getting a lower price than Hershey or Nestle? I’ve never seen a culture like that!
