Abbott , the largest infant formula manufacturer in the US, reached an agreement with the Food and Drug Administration on Monday to reopen the company’s manufacturing plant in Michigan to help ease a nationwide shortage of baby formula, after the facility was closed due to bacterial contamination.

The automaker on Thursday confirmed its Oakville Assembly Plant in Canada and Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri will be down the week of Aug.

Today’s report indicates that the proposed Oklahoma production facility, if consummated, would serve as a twin to a previously announced Kansas facility. Reportedly, the State of Kansas is providing upwards of $700 million in rebates and tax incentives as an incentive for selection of the Kansas facility.
