Reefer Freight Market Still Has a Few Hot Spots

Spot Truckload Rates Continue a Slow-and-Steady Climb

Van Rates Respond to Seasonal Slowdown

Canadian freight has been accelerating into the U.S., Memphis to Charlotte was up 9¢ to $2.53/mile. The biggest declines was out West, though: Denver to Albuquerque, NM , fell 35¢ to $2.18/mile. A big swath of the country saw falling van rates last week. The one exception was in Buffalo. FALLING LANES.

Spot Market Seasonal Slowdown Begins. Sorta

With the exception of Memphis , the biggest declines in spot market rates were in the Southeast and out West. Some of that demand could have been due to re-scheduling of contract freight after snow and ice shut down bridges and highway on-ramps. Denver to Albuquerque, NM, rates dropped 43¢ to $2.49/mile.
