October Flatbed Rates Were Highest of the Year

Flatbed rates were down out of a handful of Sunbelt markets: Atlanta, Savannah, Fort Worth, and Phoenix. Phoenix to Ontario, CA , was also down, at $1.81/mile. Atlanta rates were down in general, but the lane to Baltimore climbed to $2.95/mile mile last week. Out West, Reno to Seattle declined to $1.98/mile.

Signs of Spring in Flatbed Markets

Phoenix to Dallas slipped 46¢ to $1.89/mile, A couple Southeast markets also trended up for flatbed rates and volumes last week. Volumes were off in Memphis , which pushed rates down 4%.

Sun Belt States Are Hot for Vans and Reefers

Rates are up for flatbeds in some Sun Belt markets, particularly Jacksonville in the Southeast, Dallas and neighboring Fort Worth, plus Phoenix. Rates are up in some Sun Belt markets, however, including Dallas and Fort Worth. Flatbed markets in the Midwest and Northeast were quiet last week.
