Reefer volumes gearing up for fall holidays

Most parts of California are shipping more loads, especially the Fresno market in central California. Chicago to Philadelphia increased 15¢ to hit $3.58/mile. Philadelphia to Boston lost 24¢, falling to $4.20/mile. Activity is also up from the Nogales, AZ, market, as well as Florida and South Texas.

The biggest drop was in Philadelphia rates, but price changes were were otherwise pretty limited. California produce should gain strength in the coming weeks.

Truckload Rates Finally Catch Up to Freight Volumes

Van rates were also trending up out of Philadelphia and Los Angeles. The backhaul lane from Philadelphia to Charlotte added 15¢ to $1.46/mile, Miami continued to ship lots of reefer roads, while Lakeland in the central part of the state joined the Florida parade.
