Freight rates have been in decline since the calendar flipped to 2019. On the top 100 van lanes, February volumes so far have outpaced both 2017 and 2018, and the number of lanes with higher rates versus lower rates was fairly balanced last week. Chicago to Detroit was down 22¢ at $3.13/mile.
