On this tour, I heard Jeff Ma, a former member of the MIT blackjack team, speak on the use of analytics to make better decisions in “beating the house.” I love the stories but question the fit of the metaphor(s) for a supply chain conference. Functional metrics need to be abandoned to focus on balanced scorecard outputs.
