Rock Island, IL, to Minneapolis rose at an average of $3.71/mile. Cleveland to Grand Rapids tumbled to $2.65/mile. Las Vegas to Phoenix also jumped up to $2.97/mile. Continuing the regional theme out of Nevada: Flatbed rates from Reno to Seattle rose to $2.97/mile. Demand has been weaker in Florida and Pennsylvania this month.

All rates below include fuel surcharges and are based on real transactions between brokers and carriers. Chicago to Denver soared 27¢ to $3.17/mile.

Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Indianapolis, and Joliet, IL , were all in the top 10 for load posts on DAT Load Boards last week. Chicago to Minneapolis dropped 18¢ to $1.93/mile, Minneapolis to Chicago rates were up to $2.01/mile. Rates on the lane from Columbus to Buffalo rose 27¢ and paid $2.76/mile mile on average.

A lot of lanes have been up-and-down, depending on weather changes: The lane from Rock Island, IL, to Minneapolis went from 70 degrees to snow storms late in the week -- on average, rates rose 39¢ to $2.55/mile. Cleveland to Harrisburg jumped up 35¢ to $3.09/mile, Cleveland to Houston also dropped 31¢ to $1.62/mile.
