Chicago to Detroit was down 22¢ at $3.13/mile. Chicago to Columbus lost 12¢ at $2.79/mile. We saw some spikes in prices out of Chicago two weeks ago as a result of that blast of Arctic weather, but those rates started to fall back to earth last week.

Columbus to Allentown , up 23¢ to $3.37/mile. Memphis to Columbus , up 20¢ to $2.33/mile. Chicago to Detroit , up 22¢ to $3.46/mile. Big increases on lanes into the Northeast and eastern Midwest, plus other key retail lanes: Buffalo to Allentown, PA , up 38¢ to $3.69/mile. Most markets were up.

Winter weather likely affected these lanes: The average van rate on the lane from Chicago to Detroit rose 42¢ to $3.97/mile. Buffalo to Columbus was up 44¢ at $2.51/mile. A couple mid-tier lanes associated with retail traffic fell post-Christmas: Columbus to Buffalo lost 36¢ to $3.20/mile. RISING LANES.

Columbus to Buffalo surged 47¢ to $3.36/mile. Chicago to Detroit was up 27¢ to $3.69/mile. Chicago to Columbus gained 32¢ at $3.60/mile. Call 800.551.8847 to upgrade today. In the rest of the country: Dallas rates were up 6%. Big increases on lanes out of Chicago : Chicago to Buffalo rose 37¢ to $3.22/mile.

Columbus to Buffalo was up 17¢ to $3.92/mile. Chicago to Detroit was down 39¢ at $3.86/mile. The weather improved, and there was more movement on some Northeast lanes where shipments had been delayed. The flipside is that rates fell on other lanes in the region. Buffalo to Allentown, PA , rose 25¢ to an average of $4.15/mile.
