There is no secret, our Planet is currently facing lots of environmental concerns: global warming, air pollution, water pollution, waste invasion, ozone layer depletion, climate change, etc. These issues affect every human being, every animal, every living thing on this planet. Resources are over-exploited, leading to a deterioration of the environment.
Amazon recently announced a push to provide its Prime members with one-day rather than two-day free shipping. In a cheeky bit of journalism, Todd Bishop ( @toddbishop ) and Nat Levy ( @NatJLevy ) call one-day shipping Amazon’s new “Prime number.”[1] They go on to note, “Amazon’s moves are often followed by its retail rivals, like Walmart and Target, so this strategy could set a new standard for delivery speeds around the world.” Many analysts assert the rise of e-co
As most of you likely know I’m from Canada eh, and so of course I love hockey! All of Canada is hockey crazy and as those in the know are aware the NHL is now in the midst of The Stanley Cup Final series between the St. Louis Blues and the Boston Bruins. Alas, no teams from Canada made it past the first round of the NHL Playoffs this year, but I take solace in the fact that more than half of the players on the two teams in the Final series are actually Canadians!
The $53 trillion manufacturing economy in the US is undergoing a major automation paradigm shift due to Artificial Intelligence (AI). Thanks to new practical frameworks, automation projects that were once impossible or inefficient to implement are now being fast-tracked, and robotics automation is becoming increasingly relevant to a growing number of users and scenarios.
Warehouse operations productivity hinges on 3 coordinated functions: your workforce, your customers and orders, and your inventory. Simple? Not really. We understand that those three elements lead to multiple functions and interactions in omnichannel warehouse management, and can keep your management teams so busy that growth, optimisation, and improvement is next-to-impossible.
Today, there is a better understanding of 3D printing technology. Support for prototypes or POCs is widespread. Yet, many organizations struggle to move beyond the experimentation phase. Change management is difficult but a horizontal and cross-functional approach is key to succeed with this type of digital transformation. How do you ensure adoption and prepare to scale the technology?

When it comes to intelligence in decision making, it’s our differences in experiences and attitudes that make our businesses evolve in a diverse manner. There are often many ways to solve a problem. The path we take can be an expression of our human creativity. This ingenuity is precisely why Artificial Intelligence alone is unlikely to help us break out and take supply chain decision making to the next level.
Managing inventory in 2019 has become an even more complex challenge according to our industry peers and PINC customers. In my previous article titled “The High Cost of The One Percent Inventory Accuracy in Your Supply Chain“, I explored significant challenges, costs associated to inventory management, and what one percent of inventory accuracy represents to your operation.
Lemmings are misunderstood. So are supply chain leaders. What is a lemming? Simply put, a lemming is a small rodent. Active in Arctic tundra ecosystems, they are part of the super family Muroidea, which includes rats, mice, hamsters, and gerbils. A lemming’s population rises and falls. Sometimes there are large migrations that result in mass drownings.
Omnichannel retail is the new “Gold Standard” for the industry. On the surface, an omnichannel approach gives consumers the ability to blend their online and physical experience into one. For supply chains, the impact of omnichannel is more significant. Supply chain technology requires integration for omnichannel success, and the entire system relies on data.
Note: Today’s post is part of our “Editor’s Pick” series where we highlight recent posts published by our sponsors that provide practical knowledge and advice on timely and important supply chain and logistics topics. by Alexa Cheater Stop making decisions in the dark. Some things are better in the dark. Fireworks. Watching a movie. Robbing a bank. Supply chain planning isn’t one of them. So why do so many companies still plan that way? Managing a supply chain is tough enough without having to make decisions blind. Increasing cost pressures, growing customer expectations, expanding ecosystems—all add to the complexity you’re facing every day.
After 32 victories and $2,462,216 in earnings, the run is finally over. Of course, I am talking about James Holzhauer’s Jeopardy win streak, which ended earlier this week, about $60,000 shy of Ken Jennings’s record of $2,522,700 in a 74-game winning streak in 2004. And while the big loss was not much of a surprise based on leaked information, many people thought he may have thrown the round, considering that he bet just $1,399 in […].
Supply chain management is a complex, ever-changing process. The actions of yesterday do not necessarily reflect the best practices of tomorrow. Amazon and Walmart continue to encroach on small businesses, and the ability to gain insight into freight spend has never been more critical. With all the hype about savings and improvements through a transportation.read More.
“What should we do about the tariffs?” There’s no straightforward answer — every leader has a different expectation. CFOs want numbers. COOs want action. CEOs want strategy. And supply chain and procurement leaders need to be ready with the right response — fast. That’s why GEP has created a simple three-part framework that will help CPOs and CSCOs brief the board and C-suite with clarity and confidence.

If there is one lesson many companies learned the hard way last year, it’s that you have to be prepared for whatever twists and turns might emerge in the transportation market. How do you begin that preparation? What’s required? How do you know if you’re on the right path? Those are some of the key. When most people think of shipping containers, they think of exactly what’s in the name: shipping. Formally known as an integral part of virtually any product moving across a supply chain, shipping containers keep products safe from external forces like weather and theft. However, recent advancements have been made to use shipping containers to solve […].

We’ve all heard the saying “seeing is believing,” which means you need to see something before you can accept that it really exists or occurs. You might also be familiar with W. Edwards Deming’s famous quote, “In God we trust, all others must bring data.” In many ways, both these sayings relate to supply chain. Managing Director, Art of Procurement. Everything procurement delivers – from savings to risk mitigation to value – is predicated on having access to clean, trustworthy data. If this foundation does not exist or if it is shaky, then buyers don’t know how much the company is spending with a given supplier, let alone how they can improve the efficiency or impact of a given spend category.
Most discussions about crossroads focus on decision-making and choosing a direction to head. For example, author Mary Buchan ( @MidLifestyleRN ) writes, “Life presents us with moments of decision — crossroads where we either choose a new direction and move on, or cling to what we already have and be miserable.” Much less discussed — but to me a more interesting topic — is what comes together at crossroads.
Retailers know the clock is ticking–legacy SAP Commerce support ends in 2026. Legacy platforms are becoming a liability burdened by complexity, rigidity, and mounting operational costs. But modernization isn’t just about swapping out systems, it’s about preparing for a future shaped by real-time interactions, AI powered buying assistants, and flexible commerce architecture.
