They drew a blank when looking for a chicken farmer that would commit to a fixed price. No fixed chicken price, no fixed Chicken McNugget price, which meant no McNuggets.

I believe many of us are spending an abundance of time reading about the Russia-Ukraine war. It is certainly worthy of our concerns as individuals. But the topic is also of significance to supply chain practitioners. In fact, supply chains are being impacted directly by the war and by the sanctions being put in place in response. For example, the rapid increase in the price of oil to over $100 a barrel for WTI is sure to result in additional inflation in our current inflationary environment.
“What should we do about the tariffs?” There’s no straightforward answer — every leader has a different expectation. CFOs want numbers. COOs want action. CEOs want strategy. And supply chain and procurement leaders need to be ready with the right response — fast. That’s why GEP has created a simple three-part framework that will help CPOs and CSCOs brief the board and C-suite with clarity and confidence.
What we eat impacts our lives in myriad ways. According to the staff at Phrases.org, a French lawyer by the name of Anthelme Brillat-Savarin, published the first version of the phrase, “You are what you eat.”[1] In a book entitled Physiologie du Gout, ou Meditations de Gastronomie Transcendante , published in 1826, he wrote, “Dis-moi ce que tu manges, je te dirai ce que tu es.” Translated into English, it says, “Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are.
Retail is detail. And there is a lot of ‘detail’ for retailers to manage and factor into the business every day. When it comes to external variables, nothing is more consistently and directly impactful on demand than the weather. This is because the weather influences consumer buying behavior everyday – and it never stops changing; no other external variable shifts demand trends as immediately, frequently, and meaningfully.

How does technology, such as digital freight apps, help LSPs achieve their business objectives? What capabilities are most important? “What we have here…is a failure to communicate.” One of the most famous quotes in our cultural lexicon is a sobering reminder that effective communication is one of the keys to running a successful supply chain, yet it is often overlooked in importance until it becomes an issue. With evolving customer behaviors and buying patterns, increased competition, and a globally disrupted supply chain , the need for effective communication between businesses and their suppliers has never been

As Erik Larson ( @erikdlarson ), Founder and CEO of Cloverpop, observes, “The consumer packaged goods industry is experiencing unprecedented change.
