Last week, Houston's van freight volumes rebounded to 88% of pre-storm levels. Atlanta and Charlotte are the two major van markets that serve Florida, and outbound rates soared in those markets, but volumes were down. Charlotte to Lakeland also spiked 36¢ to $2.89 Charlotte to Atlanta was up to $2.57 HURRICANE IRMA.

In the South, volumes were up nearly 9% in Charlotte , but down 3% in Atlanta. In Texas, Houston volumes rose 5%, but were down 3% in Dallas. No major van markets made any big moves in one direction or the other last week, but outbound rates in Houston and Los Angeles have both risen by 5% over the past month.

For the month of May, the biggest rate increases were on outbound lanes from Memphis and Charlotte in the South, and Los Angeles and Stockton in California.
